Q: How do I change or cancel my reservation?
A: Call the reservation phone number (+90 392 228 83 81), or send us an e-mail (info@sunrentacar.com) to change or cancel your reservation. Please remember that changing dates, locations and type and class of vehicle may change the rate on your reservation.
Q: Can I reserve a specific make/model of car?
A: Yes you can. Please confirm your car features at the time of reservations.
Q: How can I make the payment?
A: We accept payments at the time we deliver the car or by you faxing us the mail order form which can be provided to you via e-mail by request. You can make the payment by credit card at the time of delivery as well.
Q: For how long will Sun hold my confirmed vehicle?
A: It is the policy of Sun to have the vehicle available confirmed for a period of up to 6 hours after the scheduled arrival time. It is the customer's responsibility as the renter to notify our reservation center. This will ensure that the location continues to hold the vehicle. Failure to do so will result in the release of the vehicle.
Q: How will I find the car when I arrive to Ercan Airport?
A: Sun Rent a Car has an office at Ercan airport inside the terminal building, which is the first office on your left at the passenger exit gate after custom control.
Q: Can I collect the car at a border crossing such as Ledra Palace?
A: Yes, in fact Sun Rent a Car has free delivery and can bring your rental car to any location of your choice at (or within) the borders of North Cyprus. Certain limitations may apply to Lefke and Guzelyurt areas since these are further away from our offices.
Q: Can anyone other than myself drive the car?
A:Only the approved person(s) at the time of rental can drive the car.
Q: Is there an additional charge if there will be more than one driver?
A:No, there is no any extra charge for additional drivers. You can have up to three drivers on your contract completely free of charge.
Q: What happens if I return the car late?
A:Late returns can affect the type of rate assigned to the rental. Returns which are less than 1 hour late will not be charged. Returns which are later than 3 hour will be charged for an extra day.
Q: How do I arrange to extend my rental period?
A:Please call our Emergency call number to get information on how to extend your rental. The emergency phone number (+90 392 228 83 81) is also on the rental agreement. Itís not possible to extend your contract over the telephone.
Q: What if I have a problem with the car?
A:Sun provides emergency roadside assistance. At the time of rental ask the representative to inform you about this service. This service is completely free and is a 24/7 service.
Q: Is V.A.T. included in the prices?
A:Yes. Our rates include 5 % of V.A.T.
Q: Can I pay by credit card?
A:Sun honours most major credit/charge cards as a form of payment ex: master card, visa. We do not accept American Express.
Q: What does Third Party Insurance mean?
A:The customer is responsible for any loss or damage to the rental vehicle in accordance with Northern Cyprus laws.
Q: Do I have to purchase Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance?
A:Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance is offered by Sun for an additional daily charge of 3.00 G.B.P per day. Sun waives all or part (as indicated on the rental agreement at time of rental) of the customer's liability for damages to the vehicle provided the terms and conditions of the rental agreement are not violated.
Q: Is C.D.W included in the rate quoted?
A: No it is not. Only third party insurance is included in the rate quoted (mandatory). Collission Damage Waiver is also mandatory on all cars other than Renualt Broadway and Nissan Sunny.
Q: What should I do in the case of an accident?
A: Firstly contact the police to complete an accident report and immediately contact the Emergency Road Side Service telephone number (+90 392 228 83 81). You can find the phone numbers on your rental agreement.
Q: Are taxes included in the rate quoted?
A:All local taxes are included in rate quote.
Q: How old do you have to be in order to rent a car?
A: The minimum rental age is 25 on all rentals.
Q: What if I get a traffic violation while in possession of a Sun rental vehicle?
A:The driver of the car is liable for all parking and traffic violations.
Q: If we arrive at the Larnaca Airport can we pass the border to Northern Cyprus?
A: Yes you can pass the border to Northern Cyprus. We can pick you up at Larnaca Airport and take you to our Lefkosa/Kyrenia/Ercan office where you can pick up your rental car.
Q: What currency are the rates in?
A:All rates are in GBP.
Q: What is Collision Damage Waiver?
A:CDW - This cover removes all financial responsibility for damage to the car, only as long as the terms of the rental contract are not violated.
Q: Is it possible to cross the border to South Cyprus with my rental car?
A:No, crossing the Border to South Cyprus is not allowed as the insurance is only valid in North Cyprus.
